Many children visit the Sydney Opera House whether with their preschool, school or family members but they may don't know much about the man who designed this magnificent structure.  Through this illustrated story they will discover the story of the the early life of outstanding visionary architect, Jorn Utzon.

Through this story for young readers age 6 - 9 and parents,  will follow his early childhood as he is aware of the little things such as flowers in a meadow or seashells,

How he liked to create bridges from folded paper, or build a cubby house with sheets and blankets or making sailing boats from orange peels.

Jorn had critics as a young child who thought his desire to create things was strange, but luckily his parents were delighted and encouraged his pursuits. Readers will see how he developed his ideas and how he came to enter into the competition to design the Sydney Opera House. Again he had critics, some said it was an ugly design while most loved it and called it a masterpiece.

Sharing Jorn Utzon's early life story in this heartwarming picture book is a good example for younger readers to dream and follow their dreams. To realise there are no limits to what they can achieve. It also shows that although not everyone will like everything they do if they persevere and follow their hearts the world is their oyster.
