This new version of a classic 30 year old story, set in and near Sydney's Hyde Park is a delight to read.
Printed as a sturdy board book for little ones up to 5 years, it tells the story about a duckling Alexander who doesn't listen to his mum and wanders off instead of staying with the family.
As the family merrily wander around the College Street end, which is opposite Sydney's Hyde Park, when suddenly Alexander finds himself down a deep shaft causing concern and anxiety for his whole family.
Help comes from a variety of sources as they traverse the openings in the street and then across the road in Hyde Park. This is a lovely, humorous and gentle way to demonstrate to young children what can happen if they don't listen while reading a gentle story.
The illustrations are half the delight showing all the emotions in this classic story. This new board book is one to keep for generations. We loved it!
