Here's an interesting picture book getting young readers to understand that all those bright, shiny new toys aren't always what they're cracked up to be! The message of not everything new and made of plastic is better than older much loved toys.

It almost every child's dream to be a toy tester and Sam has had enough of his old toys handed down to him through the family, so when his mum comes home and says that the toy factory in the town are looking for a toy tester he can't wait to be chosen.

The toys soon start arriving. Every day. He can't keep up with all the toys he has to test, but then he finds out they break quite quickly and he is left with this mountain of toys, What do with them? He can't keep them all.

A sweet story, with fun detailed illustrations that shows that getting all the latest and greatest isn't always the greatest! Sam and his little brother Max soon realise that their old friends are their best friends. It is a good way to teach young children about consumerism, especially as we head into the Christmas holiday season and the time of gift giving - ironically this book would make an ideal gift.
