The School Marketing Awards were awarded at the Aforia in Adelaide recently. The Aforia is a school marketing conference for people in schools whose responsibility it is to promote and market their schools.

The School Marketing Awards has two categories, School Prospectuses and School Websites.

The awards are open to schools internationally and entries were received from many countries. The aim of the award is to promote quality prospectuses from schools in Australia and abroad. It is also to encourage an improvement in the standards of these publications.

Entry is free and the closing date for 2011 is 24 June and winners will be announced at the Aforia in Melbourne 12 August. An entry form can be downloaded.

JUDGING
A panel of people from different backgrounds is formed each year. Judges may change from year to year, and include parents (young and older, male and female), educators, students, marketers, designers and photographers.

The judges are asked to assume that they have no knowledge of the school and that they are looking for a school for their child. Their brief is that they are looking for a prospectus or website that excites them and motivates them to take the next step in the enrolment process. The prospectuses and websites are judged on presentation, content, call to action and delivery.
